Around the Room

We made english muffin pizzas!

We decorated pumpkins with golf tees and beads!

We made thank you notes for the people who fixed our playground...
We made "soup"!

We wrote in our journals.  You'll get to see all our work at parent teacher conferences this winter.
We were scientists and used our senses!

We read...

We painted pumpkins to give away at the Hand in Hand celebration...

We showed Miss Karyn that even stamp pads turn into finger paint!

Violin

We have a mom who is a violinist! She came in and talked about the parts of the violin, showed us high and low notes, and played songs we could sing along with! We can't wait until her next visit! Thank you!

Any other moms or dads want to come and play and instrument, share your job, teach us a new skill, read a book...?

Scissors are for...

We keep talking about using scissors safely and not using them to cut our own hair!  I tell them you have to go to a special school to learn how to cut hair - lucky for us, we have a mom who did just  that!

Firefighters

Mr.W and Storm brought firefighters to visit today! They talked to us about having a plan to get out of the house if we hear the smoke detector, how to dial 911, and stop drop and roll!

Week 6

We had the peg boards out this week...

I rearranged under the loft more children could see the sign language video without conflict. This is what we do while everyone goes to the bathroom before nap.

(Those tricky fingers!)
We also have choices on the table before nap...
Lots of children are playing teacher - and I hear I'm being copied at home too!  To dismiss the children from group time, I sing "willoby wallaby we an elephant sat on me, willoby wallaby Waryn, an elephant sat on Karyn..." and so on until the elephant puppet has "sat" on everyone and they've gone off to make a choice!  Here is a mini teacher at work...
We had pipe cleaners and beads to decorate our playdough...

Which led to "take my picture!"

And those next us at the peg table wanted a picture too!

Here's another teacher...and many "reading" the morning message!  Very cool!  We are talking about how readers use pictures and the first letter sound to figure out words just like us!

We had the birthday prop box out...

And another "take my picture!"

Muffins

We made muffins!
